Uluru and Kata Tjuta
Not far 6,000 km traveled between Sydney and Alice Springs, all in 32 days. Our final destination: the center of the red center and its legendary big rock in the middle of nowhere: Uluru / Ayers Rocks.
We confirm, the center of Australia is red! Red do you want in here, some shrubs (carpet clean) to look pretty on pictures of blue to bring out the red. In short, vivid colors well in this inhospitable but beautiful landscape. He then took time to get there, but the "detour" worth it! Uluru, also known as Ayers Rocks is impressive and magnetic. Is that it imposes good old rock of "coarse sandstones and conglomerates of micro-dating of Late Proterozoic" (source: experts stones) 3.6 km long and 350 m high. Within 20k, it is only in the middle of this desert red sand. It changes color according to the day of his enlightenment: magical! Being a sacred place for the local Aborigines, it is forbidden to climb. About twenty km: Kata Tjuta. Less known but equally impressive. The domes of Kata Tjuta are the "sisters" of Uluru; they come from the same big rock. Ok it was there all the same 400 million years (it rejuvenates not we all!). Despite our many friends flies and hot weather, we made our p'tite bucolic hike through the magnificent domes.
